In the center of the Earth is the Great Clock powered by 12 crystals. The Great Clock generates time for all the world. But one day in the year 1999, two crazy workers Cogs and Sprinx in charge of guarding the Great Clock accidentally hit a button that must never be pressed - which opens a time portal sucking all the crystals into it and sending them to different times in Earth's past. Cogs and Sprinx must travel back in time and retrieve the crystals to reactivate the Great Clock before the end of the year 1999 - or there will be no millennium.

In 1996 Chris Carter followed up THE X-FILES with the darker, arguably more sophisticated series MILLENNIUM, a gothic horror show that pit actor Lance Henriksen against a thousand points of darkness. The series ended abruptly in 1999, but the darkness remains. Fans yearning for Frank Black’s heroic return can revisit past nightmares and see glimpses of a hopeful future in the new feature-length documentary, MILLENNIUM AFTER THE MILLENNIUM.

A light-hearted look at a thousand years of British history, condensed into a musical cartoon.

An English oak can live for a thousand years. Imagine the tale it might tell of changes witnessed and the dramas that unfolded around it. From before the Norman Conquest, through the Black Death, civil war, industrial revolution to the present day, this film charts one tree's life story as it links the first millennium to the dawn of the next.

The first part puts two families of puppets at odds over a job promotion; the second features Meryl Streep in romantic duets with a dummy (who is voiced by Adam Guettel); the third shows the legged objects, embodied by the Alvin Ailey 2 company, taking the stage to audition for their roles. With no movie technique (but a great cameraman, Ed Lachman), Simmons has assembled her interests as if in a toy chest: old movies and TV commercials, Broadway songs, good-to-feel-bad bathos, and the effluvia of domestic life. Whether intentionally or not, Simmons has made a film about the inevitable post-Warhol art-world nexus of irony, finance, and glamour, a luxury object of empty intentions that the viewer fills with his own need for art, just as the second act’s real-world woman endows a dummy with her romantic hopes and dreams.
